Two Teenagers Arrested in Occupied Territories for Alleged Espionage for Iran
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, based on data published by the Mehr News Agency and cited by the Times of Israel website, the Haifa District Prosecutor’s Office has accused two teenagers from Kiryat Motzkin, aged 14 and 16, of sabotage, espionage, and attempting to recruit individuals for Iran’s intelligence services.
According to claims by the occupying regime’s prosecution, these two teenagers received several hundred shekels in cryptocurrency for carrying out these alleged actions.
The prosecution claims that the two suspects are facing charges in the Haifa District Juvenile Court, including property damage, communicating with a foreign agent, and providing information to an enemy.
The occupying regime’s prosecution alleged that one of the suspects made contact in June through a job-seeking Telegram group with an agent operating under the pseudonym “Daniel,” and subsequently recruited the other suspect.
Police announced that the teenager who made the initial contact was arrested upon arrival at Ben Gurion Airport. The police statement did not specify when this arrest took place or where the teenager entered from.
According to the allegations, the missions undertaken by the two teenagers included taking photos and videos of shopping centers in Herzliya and Tel Aviv, providing information about the entrances and number of security personnel at one of the shopping centers, creating a Telegram group to find other teenagers, and spraying slogans in the Kiryat Motzkin area.
