Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces Deny Evacuation of Bases Amid US-Iran Tensions
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, sources affiliated with the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) have dismissed reports claiming the evacuation of their bases in Anbar province, located in western Iraq. These reports were deemed inaccurate and baseless by officials within the PMF.
Qassem Musleh, Commander of the PMF’s Anbar Operations Command, explicitly denied the published accounts of base evacuations. He asserted that the information was entirely false and lacked any foundation.
Musleh stated, “The units of the Anbar Operations Command continue to carry out their security duties and assigned tasks normally, maintaining the highest levels of preparedness. All headquarters and units are performing their functions according to approved security plans.”
He further commented that security forces remain deployed and are actively executing their missions within their designated areas of responsibility, confirming that the security situation is under control.
Musleh urged the public to rely solely on information disseminated by authorized bodies and to refrain from following news or intelligence from unofficial sources.
The Commander of the Anbar Operations Command reaffirmed that the PMF is continuously monitoring security developments and undertaking necessary measures to ensure the safety and stability of Anbar province, along with safeguarding its citizens and their property.
Earlier, on Monday, an unnamed security source had alleged the evacuation of PMF bases in Anbar province in western Iraq, citing increased tensions between Iran and the United States. This source told Shafaq News Agency that these actions involved a reduction in the number of personnel stationed at the bases, with a limited contingent of local forces remaining to secure the facilities and perform core missions.
