Qatar Consults with Oman, Pakistan on Regional De-escalation

Qatar is actively engaged in consultations with Oman and Pakistan aimed at de-escalating regional tensions, as the ongoing crisis in the Strait of Hormuz threatens to exacerbate conflict and inflict widespread damage.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Qatar‘s Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson, Majid Al-Ansari, announced that ongoing discussions with Oman and Pakistan focus on measures to reduce regional tensions. Al-Ansari highlighted that the unresolved crisis in the Strait of Hormuz poses a significant risk of escalating tensions and causing harm to all parties involved.

He emphasized Qatar’s collaborative efforts with its partners to achieve a peaceful resolution and ensure the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. Al-Ansari also issued a warning regarding the potential exploitation of heightened regional tensions by Israeli occupation forces to impose new realities.

The spokesperson specifically cautioned against Israel’s attempts to establish new situations in the Palestinian, Lebanese, and Syrian territories amidst the current geopolitical climate.
