Ukraine President Zelensky, US Envoys Discuss Security Guarantees Post-War

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated on Sunday that he engaged in discussions with U.S. representatives in Kyiv concerning security and economic guarantees for Ukraine following the cessation of hostilities. Zelensky further elaborated that territorial matters represent the principal unresolved issue, requiring resolution exclusively at the summit level. He indicated that the conflict with Russia might persist until the approaching winter season.

Steve Vítko, the U.S. Special Envoy in Kyiv, commented after the meeting with Zelensky, asserting that the delegation arrived in Kyiv to steer negotiations back onto their intended course. He expressed a positive outlook on their achievements and anticipation for further progress. Vítko also suggested that both Russia and Ukraine would need to make concessions to end the war. He described his mission, alongside Jared Kushner, as facilitating dialogue between the Russian and Ukrainian parties to bridge differences and forge a mutually agreeable resolution to the conflict.

Jared Kushner, a member of the U.S. negotiation team and son-in-law of President Trump, claimed that President Trump aims to establish a framework for achieving comprehensive and lasting peace, rather than merely ending the current conflict in Ukraine.
