UK Prime Minister and President Trump Discuss Ukraine and West Asia in Phone Call

The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and President Donald Trump held a phone conversation to discuss ongoing developments in Ukraine and the West Asia region, according to statements from London.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, based on data published by Mehr News Agency citing the UK government website, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Andy Burnham, spoke with United States President Donald Trump by phone on Monday afternoon.

A statement released by London regarding the conversation indicated that the Prime Minister began by congratulating President Trump on ‘Labor Day.’ The UK Prime Minister stated that London is fostering a positive environment around the country and that progress has been made, though more work remains to be done.

London further added that concerning Ukraine, both parties agreed on the necessity of continued efforts to achieve a ceasefire that would prevent further loss of life. The Prime Minister reiterated the UK’s support for Ukraine, as well as recent peace negotiations.

Regarding West Asia, the Prime Minister outlined the UK’s commitment to the region. Both leaders expressed their hope to speak again soon.
