Iran Captures Advanced US Unmanned Submersible in Strait of Hormuz

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Iran‘s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy has captured an advanced, unmanned American submersible in the waters at the entrance to the Strait of Hormuz. This development has been widely reported by international media outlets.
The UK’s The Guardian newspaper reported that Iran announced the successful seizure of one of the most sophisticated American unmanned submersibles through a complex intelligence and operational mission at the mouth of the Strait of Hormuz.
Reuters also reported the IRGC Navy’s statement, confirming the capture of a US unmanned submersible at the Strait of Hormuz. France’s Agence France-Presse, citing the IRGC’s statement, noted that the submersible incorporates the latest subsea technologies and was delivered to the US Navy fleet in 2025.
China’s Xinhua News Agency focused on the IRGC’s announcement, reporting that the naval force had captured one of the ‘most modern and intelligent’ American unmanned submersibles at the entrance to the Strait of Hormuz. Hindustan Times covered the news by highlighting Iran’s claim regarding the advanced nature of the system.
The incident was also reported by Israeli outlets like Israel Hayom, Pakistan’s Dawn News, Russian news agencies Sputnik and TASS, and regional publications including Arab News, Gulf News, and India’s NDTV.
The IRGC Navy issued a statement earlier, declaring: “With the special grace of Almighty God, the valiant forces of the IRGC Navy have, through a complex operation involving intelligence superiority and operational execution at dawn today, captured one of the most modern intelligent and unmanned submersibles of the United States’ terrorist army at the entrance to the Strait of Hormuz.”
The statement further elaborated: “This intelligent submersible is equipped with the latest subsea technology in the world and was delivered to the fleet of the United States’ terrorist army in the year 2025 AD.”
