Russia Claims Ukraine Involved in Leipzig Airport Drone Incident

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service announced on Tuesday that intelligence agencies of NATO member countries have informed relevant authorities that there is no evidence implicating Moscow in the drone incident at Leipzig Airport. The Russian Foreign Intelligence Service further stated that NATO intelligence services have warned of signs indicating Ukraine’s involvement in the incident. Moscow subsequently clarified that these services have advised their structures to avoid definitive public statements about Moscow’s culpability in the Leipzig Airport incident.

The German government had previously announced on September 1st that it had concluded Russia was responsible for the failed drone attack on the airport last month. In response, Berlin ordered the closure of a Russian consulate and a cultural center in the country. Moscow has denied these accusations. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov called Western claims about Russia’s role in the incident baseless on September 6th, stating that such accusations could be “the beginning of a real war.”
