Iraqi Hezbollah Official Threatens Airport Sit-in Over Iran Flight Ban

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Akram Al-Kaabi, the Secretary-General of Iraq’s Nujaba movement, has emphasized that if the problem of Iran’s suspended flights to Iraq is not addressed, the country’s airports will face a sit-in protest aimed at rescinding the American decision.

Al-Kaabi further stated that his group rejects the double standard applied to Iraq’s sovereignty and American dominance over the nation. He expressed regret over the stances taken by political groups and their apparent submission to the blockade of a Muslim population by what he described as criminal elements.

Previously, Adel Abdul Mahdi, on his personal page, described the closure of Iraqi airports to Iranian flights as a grave error and a retreat from national sovereignty.

The former Prime Minister of Iraq added that barring flights from a neighbor, ally, and friend is a significant mistake, a regression in national sovereignty, and a sacrifice of national interests and future.

Abdul Mahdi also suggested that reconsidering the decision would be preferable to persisting in error.
