Four Injured in Incident Aboard US Navy Aircraft Carrier Eisenhower

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, four crew members of the U.S. Navy aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower were injured following an “incident” during aircraft recovery operations off the coast of Virginia. The incident led to two U.S. Navy pilots ejecting from their aircraft on the evening of September 28.

Investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause of the incident. Reports indicate that the two pilots involved were rescued and returned to the carrier. In addition to the pilots, four other crew members sustained injuries, with one sailor transported to a Norfolk area hospital for treatment of their wounds.

The U.S. Navy stated that the incident took place during the initial stages of assessing the status of the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower. The carrier had recently concluded its last maintenance period in July. The specific cause for the pilots’ ejection and the type of aircraft involved have not yet been disclosed.
