Trump Repeats Threats Against Iran, Demands New Deal

U.S. President Donald Trump reiterated his aggressive rhetoric towards Iran, claiming the nation is seeking an agreement while asserting his desire for a ‘real deal’ and not ruling out further military action.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, U.S. President Donald Trump has claimed that Iran is economically collapsing and that Iranian officials are seeking an agreement. Speaking in an interview with TIME magazine, Trump stated, “They want to make a deal, but I want to make a real deal.”

Trump also repeated his threats against the Islamic Republic, suggesting that new attacks on Iran are possible, particularly after the midterm elections. He went as far as to say, “I may have to destroy Iran, and that’s a possibility.”

Regarding Iran’s constructive proposals aimed at ending the conflict, the U.S. President stated, “What I rejected a year ago, I won’t accept today.” He acknowledged reviewing aspects of an Iranian proposal concerning the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz but deemed it insufficient.

Despite expert assessments indicating that U.S. strategic weapons reserves are at their worst state since World War II, Trump asserted, “We have tremendous weapons, we are in excellent shape, and we are now stockpiling and storing large quantities and distributing them to our allies.” He dismissed reports of shortages as largely false.

The U.S. President also claimed, “We moved the largest amount of oil through the Strait of Hormuz last night in history. We have closed the Strait of Hormuz to Iran and we have control over it,” despite the Islamic Republic’s assertion of dominance over the strategic waterway.

Addressing Iran’s nuclear program, which has consistently maintained a peaceful objective under international supervision, Trump stated, “Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon because they are crazy.”

Seeking to mitigate the potential impact of a conflict with Iran on energy prices, Trump suggested, “As soon as a deal is made with Iran, oil prices will drop as they did before.”
