Russia-US Trade Cooperation Within G20 Halted, Official States

Russia’s representative to the G20 has announced that direct trade and economic cooperation between Moscow and Washington within the group has ceased. The decision on President Vladimir Putin’s attendance at the upcoming G20 summit remains pending.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Denis Agafonov, Russia‘s G20 representative, has stated that trade cooperation between Moscow and Washington within the framework of the Group of Twenty has been suspended. This development indicates a halt in direct engagement on trade and economic matters between the two nations under the G20 umbrella.

Agafonov clarified that there is currently no direct interaction between Russia and the United States concerning trade and economic issues within the G20. He further addressed the potential attendance of Russian President Vladimir Putin at the G20 summit in Miami, noting that a final decision has not yet been made.

The Russian representative emphasized that the decision regarding President Putin’s participation will be contingent upon the preparatory work for the summit’s agenda and prevailing geopolitical conditions. He also affirmed that the Russian delegation at G20 meetings adheres to the objectives set by the country’s leadership.

Earlier, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov had also indicated that no decision had been reached regarding President Putin’s presence at the December G20 summit in Miami. The United States had extended an invitation to the Russian President to attend the gathering.
