US Defense Secretary Reiterates Claims on Iran’s Nuclear Program, Cites Strait of Hormuz Blockade

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Heggest has reiterated claims that the United States is working to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. He also asserted that the U.S. blockade in the Strait of Hormuz is firmly established.
While Iran has consistently stated it is not seeking to build nuclear weapons, the U.S. Defense Secretary repeated Washington’s assertions on the matter, claiming that Iran will not achieve a nuclear bomb.
Heggest further referenced what he described as the “oppressive blockade” against Iran, alleging that this blockade is fully in effect in the Strait of Hormuz.
Without acknowledging the United States’ withdrawal from negotiations at various junctures, Heggest claimed that U.S. President Donald Trump has provided Tehran with all opportunities to resolve the Iran issue through talks.
Heggest contended that the language of threats has proven ineffective in imposing U.S. demands, asserting that Iran still has the opportunity to voluntarily abandon its nuclear program. He further warned that if Iran does not comply, Washington might be compelled to achieve this objective through the use of force.
