Yemeni Forces Foil Saudi Incursion Attempt in Bab al-Mandab Strait

Yemeni armed forces spokesperson Yahya Saree announced the complete failure of a large-scale Saudi-led mercenary operation aimed at infiltrating the strategic Bab al-Mandab strait, which resulted in a forced retreat without achieving any battlefield success.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, based on data published by Mehr News Agency, citing Yemen‘s Al Masirah network, Yahya Saree, the spokesperson for the Yemeni armed forces, stated in a communiqué that extensive efforts by Saudi mercenary forces to infiltrate the strategic Bab al-Mandab strait were met with a decisive response and strong defense from Yemeni forces, resulting in complete failure.

Saree emphasized that these military movements on this sensitive axis, without achieving any field success, led to the forced withdrawal of the invading forces.

He added, “This failure indicates Saudi Arabia’s inability to alter military equations in areas under the control of the Yemeni armed forces.”

Concurrently, the spokesperson for the Yemeni armed forces reported an intensification of Saudi airstrikes, announcing that 66 new airstrikes targeted residential areas in Yemen over the past 24 hours.

According to published reports, Saudi F-15 and Typhoon fighter jets, taking off from Khamis Mushait and Taif air bases, targeted civilian infrastructure in the provinces of Al Jawf, Taiz, Marib, Al Hudaydah, Hajjah, and Saada.

Saree further specified that as a result of these attacks, a number of civilians, particularly women and children, lost their lives or sustained injuries.

He also noted that with the inclusion of recent attacks, the total number of Saudi Arabian airstrikes and missile attacks since the beginning of the new round of conflict has reached 1642.
