Former US Treasury Official: Iran’s Nuclear Deterrent is Israel’s Dimona Facility

A former U.S. Treasury official has asserted that Iran’s strategic deterrent lies in its ability to target Israel’s Dimona nuclear facility with ballistic missiles, causing widespread radioactive fallout. Paul Craig Roberts stated that Iran does not require its own nuclear weapons, as the Dimona site serves as its effective nuclear deterrent.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, based on data published by the Mehr News Agency, former U.S. Assistant Secretary of the Treasury, Professor Paul Craig Roberts, stated in a social media interview that Iran’s nuclear weapon is Israel’s Dimona nuclear facility, located in the occupied Palestinian territories. Roberts elaborated that Iran does not need to possess nuclear weapons, as the Dimona facility effectively serves as Tehran’s nuclear deterrent.

The former Assistant Secretary of the Treasury added that Iran possesses the capability to strike Dimona with ballistic missiles. He explained that such an attack would result in an explosion within Israel, with radioactive fallout spreading widely. Professor Roberts emphasized the significant size difference between Israel and Iran, noting that Iran is as large as Western Europe, while Israel is small and not difficult to neutralize.
