Two Latvian Nationals Detained at US Air Base in the UK

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, British police announced that two men from Latvia have been detained after entering an air base used by American forces in the eastern part of the country. Investigations into the dimensions and motives of this unauthorized entry are ongoing.
The detentions occurred during security patrols by police officers from the UK Ministry of Defence at the ‘Molesworth’ air base. During the operation, officers observed a vehicle abandoned within the base perimeter, leading to the deployment of security forces and the apprehension of suspicious individuals.
Molesworth base, located approximately 100 kilometers north of London, is utilized by American forces not as an operational base but as a hub for intelligence analysis units, command centers, and as one of NATO’s intelligence facilities.
In a statement, British police emphasized that no evidence has been found to suggest a link between this incident and a suspicious plot last month at the ‘Fairford’ air base in western England. Previously, British authorities had claimed to have thwarted a plan to attack the Fairford base and arrested several individuals involved.
This latest incident has once again heightened international concerns regarding the security of British military bases, particularly strategic installations utilized by American forces.
