Saudi Arabia Admits Two Attacks on Riyadh Airport

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation announced on Thursday that King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh was targeted in two separate attacks. The first attack impacted airport facilities, while the second struck an aircraft belonging to Saudi Arabian Airlines.
Earlier, informed sources told Agence France-Presse that at least one airplane at Riyadh’s King Khalid Airport sustained severe damage hours after powerful explosions were heard at the facility. Reuters, citing three sources, reported that smoke observed at Riyadh airport originated from an aircraft.
A spokesperson for the Yemeni Armed Forces stated late Thursday that they had targeted King Khalid Airport in Riyadh with two cruise missiles, Najran Airport with one ballistic missile, and the airbase in Khamis Mushait with one ballistic missile. Brigadier General Yahya Saree added in a message shared on social media that these operations were carried out with precision and direct hits, disrupting air traffic at both airports and causing damage to them and the airbase.
Media reports indicated that at least three aircraft were damaged in the missile attack by the Yemeni Armed Forces on Riyadh airport, with one plane being severely destroyed.
