Super Tanker Catches Fire in Strait of Hormuz After Striking Mine
A super tanker carrying crude oil has erupted in a massive fire in the Strait of Hormuz after striking a sea mine, according to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy.
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy has announced that a super tanker found in violation of regulations, while attempting to exit the Strait of Hormuz via an unauthorized route, suffered a severe explosion after colliding with a sea mine in a declared high-risk area.
The super tanker, which had deactivated its navigation and positioning systems, is currently engulfed in a colossal blaze following the impact with the sea mine. The fire is so intense that it is clearly visible to coastal residents.
The IRGC Navy stated that this massive fire serves as the ultimate consequence for any violating tanker that disregards the security and regulations of the Strait of Hormuz.
