Yemeni Forces Launch Attack on Riyadh Airport, Causing Over 320 Casualties

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Saudi Civil Aviation Authority announced that flights were rerouted to destinations other than Riyadh and all airport operations were temporarily suspended following an attack on the capital’s airport. The closure of Riyadh International Airport has since been extended by an additional 24 hours.
Official Saudi Arabian authorities reported that at least 12 individuals were killed and 309 others were injured in the attack carried out by Yemeni armed forces on Riyadh International Airport yesterday. This marks the third such attack on Riyadh airport in recent weeks.
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio confirmed that one of the fatalities at Riyadh airport was an American citizen. The U.S. Embassy in Riyadh, acknowledging awareness of the attacks, strongly advised all American citizens to refrain from traveling to and around the airport and its surrounding areas.
In response to the events, the Saudi Ministry of Health declared a one-week closure of schools in Riyadh, with education for students to continue via virtual platforms.
