Zelensky Mocks Trump’s Energy Ceasefire Claim, Demands Clarity

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has responded with biting sarcasm to U.S. President Donald Trump’s claim of an energy ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia, demanding specifics on when this supposed truce will begin.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, based on data published by Mehr News Agency, quoting Al Jazeera, the President of Ukraine reacted sarcastically to the announcement of a ceasefire in the energy sector between his country and Russia by the President of the United States.

According to the report, Volodymyr Zelensky stated moments after the ceasefire was announced by Donald Trump: “If Trump has negotiated with Putin, please also inform us of the start time of the energy sector ceasefire, and we will welcome it.”

Axios also reported, citing Zelensky, that the announcement of a ceasefire by Trump was new information for him, but if Russia agrees to an energy sector ceasefire, Ukraine will also agree.

The President of Ukraine had previously announced that Kyiv was ready to halt attacks on Russian oil refineries, provided that Moscow also stops attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.

Donald Trump, the President of the United States, claimed today that Russia and Ukraine have agreed to a ceasefire regarding attacks on energy facilities, and this ceasefire will be implemented immediately.
