Germany and Belgium Adopt Hostile Stance Against Iran, Accuse Tehran of Regional Destabilization

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Germany has adopted a hostile stance against Iran, disregarding its own prior commitments to Tehran and aligning with U.S. policies. German Chancellor Friedrich Merz has called for Iran to engage in serious negotiations and cease actions that undermine regional stability.
In a phone conversation with the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Chancellor Merz condemned recent attacks, particularly an incident targeting Riyadh Airport. This statement reflects Germany’s outward alignment with regional security concerns as perceived by its allies.
Simultaneously, the Belgian Minister of Defense has made interventionist remarks, overlooking past destructive actions by European nations that have contributed to instability in the Middle East. The minister asserted that Iran has attacked Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, and Saudi Arabia, deeming these actions unacceptable.
During an interview with Al Jazeera, the Belgian Minister of Defense also addressed the conflict in Ukraine, expressing difficulty in fully comprehending the U.S. government’s position on Russia’s war against Ukraine. The minister emphasized that the conflict must cease, placing the responsibility on Russia, as Kyiv is defending its own territory.
