US Envoy Waltz: America Prepared for Long-Term Confrontation with Iran

U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Mike Waltz asserted that Washington is prepared for a protracted confrontation with Iran, stating that strategic objectives will remain unfulfilled until high-enrichment nuclear materials are resolved and an agreement on Iran’s enrichment activities is reached.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Mike Waltz claimed that Washington is ready for a long-term confrontation with Iran. He added that strategic goals will not be considered achieved until high-enrichment nuclear materials are accounted for and an agreement is reached regarding Iran’s enrichment activities.

Waltz, in statements published by the Financial Times, indicated that achieving American objectives necessitates addressing the issue of high-enrichment nuclear materials and securing a clear agreement on the future of Iran’s enrichment operations.

He also commented on the situation in Lebanon, suggesting that the time has come for the withdrawal of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL). According to Waltz, the United States is currently consulting with France, Israel, and Lebanon regarding the potential future composition of peacekeeping forces in the country.
