China Expresses Readiness to Mediate Between Iran and Washington Through Diplomacy

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning, while addressing the intensification of crises in the West Asia region, stated that Beijing is prepared to consolidate its relations and dialogues with Iran, Saudi Arabia, and other regional governments.
The Chinese official also noted that Beijing supports a political resolution to the Yemen crisis and seeks to achieve an efficient and comprehensive solution regarding the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. Mao Ning further expressed hope that the states of the Persian Gulf region remain committed to the fundamental values of mutual respect and peaceful coexistence, aiming to build a new security architecture based on collective, comprehensive, sustainable, and cooperative security.
Amid ongoing friction between Tehran and Washington, Beijing has consistently emphasized the necessity of resolving challenges through diplomacy and dialogue. As a key trading partner of Iran, China has called for containing the expansion of conflicts and safeguarding shipping and energy lines, particularly the Strait of Hormuz.
In alignment with these diplomatic initiatives, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi held separate meetings in Beijing on November 2, 2026, with security officials from Iran and Saudi Arabia to discuss regional developments. Furthermore, Beijing announced the dispatch of its special envoy for Middle Eastern affairs to Iran, Oman, and Saudi Arabia to pursue diplomatic goodwill efforts and de-escalate tensions.
