Simultaneous Bomb Threats Disrupt Air Travel Across Six European Nations

A series of simultaneous bomb threats targeting aircraft and airports across six European nations has forced numerous flight diversions and heightened security measures. The widespread disruption comes just days after a similar incident grounded multiple flights.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the French Prime Minister’s office reported that four fresh bomb threats targeted aircraft currently in flight over the country.

Concurrently, Portuguese police announced they had received a false alert regarding explosive materials aboard an aircraft that had departed from Lisbon. Meanwhile, the Italian newspaper La Repubblica reported that a passenger aircraft traveling from Prague to Rome was diverted to Venice’s airport following a bomb threat notification.

In the Czech Republic, local police stated they received reports concerning bomb threats directed at incoming and outgoing flights at Prague Airport. Law enforcement added that while security measures have been intensified in cooperation with airport management, normal operations remain uninterrupted.

In Denmark, police reported an increased security presence at Copenhagen Airport following threats aimed at the aviation sector. Overall, these security alerts forced the redirection of 12 flights across Europe. The incident unfolds just two days after a similar occurrence that grounded eight aircraft, including three belonging to the United Kingdom, in what authorities described as a major hoax.

Media outlets further reported that a Royal Dutch Airlines (KLM) flight from Amsterdam to Tel Aviv was forced to divert toward Bucharest, the capital of Romania, after receiving a bomb threat. This development followed an announcement by the Romanian Intelligence Service regarding bomb threats targeting two aircraft, including the KLM flight bound for Tel Aviv.

Flight crews requested thorough inspections of the aircraft following the warnings. Simultaneously, disruptions were reported on a Wizz Air flight from Milan to Bucharest, contributing to a total of 27 canceled flights across the European continent.
