Syrian Troops Deployed to Saudi Arabia Spark US Warning Over Yemen Conflict

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, a significant contingent of Syrian military forces has arrived in Saudi Arabia in recent weeks with the primary mission of training the Saudi military and allied Yemeni factions.
Citing information obtained from two Syrian military sources alongside a high-ranking United States official, Reuters reported the deployment follows prior intelligence regarding the movement of fighters affiliated with Syrian leadership toward Saudi territory to support operations concerning Yemen.
Reacting to the development, the senior U.S. official warned that deploying Syrian troops to back Saudi Arabia in the Yemen conflict risks pulling Damascus into a broader escalation, potentially triggering severe consequences for Syria.
Furthermore, U.S. officials previously indicated that the matter of dispatching Syrian forces to aid in Yemen was thoroughly addressed during discussions last month in Riyadh between Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Syrian leader Abu Mohammad al-Golani.
