Khuriyev, Deputy Minister of Transport of Uzbekistan, stated at the international meeting in Tashkent that the joint railway project with Afghanistan and Pakistan will be completed by 2027.
Afghan-Trans project which is one of the most important and largest projects in Afghanistan, is trying to connect this country to regional corridors. With the completion of the Afghan-Trans railway project, Afghanistan will practically become a commercial connection point between Central and South Asian countries.
The project of this railway between Afghanistan, Uzbekistan and Pakistan with the aim of creating an economic corridor that connects Central Asia to the waters of the Indian Ocean, in the year It was presented in 2018.
The construction of this railway, which cost seven billion dollars, has the capacity to transport about 20 million tons of cargo annually.
This railway starts from Tirmaz and after passing through the cities of Mazar-e-Sharif and Kabul, it reaches Peshawar in Pakistan.
