, Pakistan Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar met with his Uzbek counterpart Bakhtyur Saidov and discussed the early implementation of the Uzbekistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan railway project known as “Afghan Trans”.
According to the announcement published by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan, the two sides in this meeting called the implementation of the Trans-Afghan railway project in the interest of the countries of the region and emphasized that this project will become a trade channel between Asia. It will be south and central.
This 760 km railway is expected to reduce the delivery time of cargo between Uzbekistan and Pakistan by about five days. Another advantage of the Afghan Trans project is a 40% reduction in the cost of transporting goods.
