Hungary and China agree on a comprehensive strategic partnership

According to the international group Tasnim news agency quoted by “NTV” Germany, Shi Chinese President Jin Ping held talks with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban in Budapest at the last stop of his European trip. Both politicians said in a joint statement broadcast on Hungarian state television that a “comprehensive strategic partnership” had been agreed between the two countries.

Orban said the two countries had always been close friends. Chinese companies will guarantee tens of thousands of jobs in Hungary today. The Chinese President also visited Budapest on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Hungary and China.

Hungary is the only EU country participating in China’s controversial New Silk Road infrastructure and investment plan. The Hungarian government is considered friendly to China. With friendly relations with Beijing, Orban wants to create a counterweight to the status of the European Union, where he is often isolated.
