China should stop military intimidation of Taiwan

report Mehr News Agency quoted by France 24, Lai Chingtai, the new president of the island of Taiwan, asked Beijing to stop the military intimidation of the island during the swearing-in ceremony.
After taking the oath, Lai claimed: Our desired goal is to seek peace, but we should not be delusional. Since China continues to resort to using force to attack Taiwan, we must understand that even if we fully accept China’s proposal and give up our autonomy, China’s efforts to annex Taiwan will not go away.
William Lai has assumed the presidency of Taiwan after Tsai Ing-wen. Ingwen was in charge of affairs for eight years.
In William Lai’s inauguration ceremony, delegations from 12 countries that have official diplomatic relations with Taiwan, as well as politicians from America, Japan and a number of European countries, were present.
Beijing considers the island of Taiwan a part of its territory and the sale of weapons from America to this island is a violation of the principle of “One China”.
