Taliban: The former media law is promulgated with a slight change
According to the regional office of Tasnim News Agency, “Khairallah Khairkhah, the Minister of Information and Culture of the Taliban government, said in a meeting with journalists in Paktia province that the previous law on public media in Afghanistan is in accordance with Sharia and the principles of the ruling body, and with a little change, it will soon be available to the media.
Khairkhah added that national interests and privacy are emphasized in this law, but some media operating abroad have crossed these lines.
Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesman of the Taliban government, said at the meeting of the Afghan Journalists’ Immunity Committee in early February 1400 that the media law of Afghanistan, which was drafted by the previous government, had been studied and had “no flaws”.
Declaring that this law will continue to be enforced, he asked the media to consider national interests, Islamic values and national unity in their activities.
