US Coast Guard warning of Hurricane Brill

The U.S. Coast Guard warned of possible closures of Texas oil ports and began restricting vessel traffic due to Tropical Storm Brill, which is expected to regain strength and become a crisis in the Port of Lavaca by Monday morning.

According to Al-Nashrah report, the closure of the ports will temporarily halt the transportation of crude oil to the refineries and the cargoes of the fuel they produce. The American National Hurricane Center confirmed that the maximum wind speed caused by the storm on Saturday was recorded at a speed of 95 kilometers per hour.

According to the US Energy Information Administration, oil production from offshore fields in the Gulf of Mexico accounts for about 14% of total US production, which is about 1.8 million barrels per day. Any impact on supply from that region could increase the price of US crude oil and offshore crude oil.

However, not long ago, Hurricane Brill, which is on the fourth level of intensity, has affected the Caribbean region. However, it is expected that the intensity of this storm will decrease when it reaches the Gulf of Mexico (one of the important oil centers) and there will be no disruption in the process of oil extraction from this region.
