The Prime Minister of Malaysia is going to meet with the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, on Tuesday. It is expected that Malaysia’s accession to BRICS will be one of the topics of discussion between the two sides.
Last year, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates were invited to join the BRICS group.
Modi and Anwar are also scheduled to discuss issues related to the Indo-Pacific region. Malaysia is going to take over the presidency of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in 2025.
