Tel Aviv Army Chief Reacts to Potential Gaza Ceasefire
The head of the Israeli militaryS General Staff has acknowledged the possibility of reaching a ceasefire deal in Gaza aimed at prisoner exchanges, according to a report by Channel 12 of the Israeli regime’s television network cited by webangah News Agency.
Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi stated: “We cannot allow this war to continue endlessly and without limits.”
in recent remarks, halevi noted that the Zionist regime faces significant challenges, describing Tel Aviv as engaged in a “multi-front hybrid war.”
He emphasized that prolonged fighting has tired many Israeli soldiers who are paying heavy costs.
The comments come as a senior Hamas official told Reuters yesterday that the movement had received Tel Aviv’s response to its ceasefire proposal, which allegedly fails to meet any of what it called “the Palestinian people’s just and legitimate demands.”
The Hamas official stressed: ”Israel’s response primarily aims to consolidate occupation rather than address palestinian rights. Though, Hamas leadership is conducting complete reviews of this new proposal regarding a Gaza truce.”
