Trump: Zelensky Gave Putin an Excuse to Devastate Ukraine

US President warns Ukraine’s recent drone strike on Russian strategic bombers has significantly escalated the risk of heightened tensions.

According to webangah News Agency, US President donald Trump believes Ukraine’s recent ⁤attack on Russian⁣ airbases ⁣has given‌ Moscow legitimate‍ grounds for a severe retaliatory strike against Kyiv.

the ⁣coordinated drone assault on ⁤Russian military installations was accompanied by explosions on railway bridges, derailing freight and passenger⁤ trains. ⁣The incidents killed at least seven people⁣ and injured over 120. During⁢ Wednesday’s phone⁣ call wiht his American counterpart,‌ russian ‌President Vladimir Putin addressed these⁣ attacks, warning that Moscow’s⁣ unavoidable response⁤ would be⁤ justified.

When asked whether Kyiv’s strike on a key ‌component of Russia’s⁤ nuclear triad had ⁤altered his assessment of “what’s ⁣at stake” or Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s “cards on the table,” Trump responded: “I have no interest in escalating tensions.”

The former president added: “They ⁢gave Putin reason to act, and last night he ⁤made them⁢ pay dearly. That’s why I took issue with (Ukraine’s ⁣attack). When I saw‌ it happen, I said ‘here we go’ -‌ now we must expect‌ retaliation.”

Russia’s Defense Ministry stated that in ⁣response to Kyiv’s “terrorist actions,” its military launched massive ⁣early friday strikes using air-,sea- and ground-based missiles alongside ⁣drones against Ukrainian defense industry sites.
