Reuters Cites Senior Iranian Official on Geneva Talks
According to webangah News Agency, Reuters reported that a senior Iranian official stated Tehran would review European proposals and present its response during the next meeting.
The unnamed official allegedly told Reuters that European powers’ demands regarding Iran’s nuclear program during Geneva negotiations were “unrealistic,” insisting such positions would not bring either side closer to an agreement.
The source claimed Iran would nevertheless evaluate the proposals domestically before formally responding in subsequent talks. The official emphasized that “zero enrichment” demands were futile and reiterated Iran’s refusal to negotiate on defensive capabilities, including its missile program.
Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi met with his european counterparts in Geneva yesterday, emphasizing continued diplomacy to resolve disputes while calling the Israeli regime’s aggression against Iran the biggest obstacle to progress.
Seyed Abbas Araghchi stressed the need for diplomatic solutions during talks in Geneva, tho he condemned what he described as “the Zionist regime’s barbarism” during its recent violation of Iranian sovereignty as the primary barrier to resolution.
The webangah News Agency reported that Western diplomats, speaking through Axios, characterized the Geneva discussions as preliminary talks. Both sides agreed to hold another meeting next week.
