Lavrov: European Union Seeks to Push US Toward Anti-Russian Sanctions

Russian Foreign Minister states that the European Union is attempting to push the United States toward new anti-Russian sanctions, ⁣but the architects of‍ these sanction wars ​will suffer losses.

According⁤ to⁣ the English section ‍of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News ‌Agency and RIA novosti, Russian Foreign minister Sergey‌ Lavrov said on Tuesday that moscow seeks clarity regarding former⁤ President ⁣Trump’s‌ statement about a 50-day deadline to resolve the​ Ukraine ⁣crisis.

Lavrov added that Trump faces critically important pressure from the European Union, which urges⁤ him​ to​ supply ‍weapons to⁤ Ukraine. The ⁤EU is⁢ also striving to steer the United States toward imposing new anti-Russian sanctions. However, he warned that ‌those​ behind this sanction war ⁢will bear ⁢losses. “We can handle these sanctions; I⁣ do⁤ not⁣ believe​ our​ partners will abandon their trade commitments,” ​Lavrov stated.

He further ‌noted⁤ that it cannot ⁤be said no progress was⁤ made during talks in Istanbul. ⁤Kyiv’s claim that negotiations in Istanbul‌ are ⁤over reflects⁢ Ukraine’s unwillingness to negotiate. Moscow believes​ this phase has not yet concluded.
