Tom Barrack and Hikmat al-Hajri’s Positions on the Ceasefire Agreement in Suwayda
According to the English service of webangah News Agency,citing Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera,Tom Barrett,the US Special Envoy for Syria,stated that all parties involved in the Syrian conflict have agreed to implement a ceasefire starting at 5:00 p.m. local time.
Barrett added that the next key step will be a complete prisoner exchange process. Preparations and logistical arrangements for this are currently underway.
Meanwhile, Sheikh Hikmat al-Hajri, the spiritual leader of the Druze community, has called for an immediate halt to all attacks and demanded that all forces affiliated wiht Hassan al-Jolani’s faction withdraw from Suwayda province.
Referring to a prisoner exchange scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m. local time, he emphasized the need to restore internet and communication services to facilitate coordination during this process. He urged everyone involved to cooperate fully and act responsibly so that tonight’s exchange can succeed.
The clashes in Suwayda in southern Syria have so far resulted in numerous casualties and injuries.
