Massive Cyberattack Targets U.S. Infrastructure
U.S. officials report a global hacker attack targeting government agencies, companies, universities, and energy institutions in the country.
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr news Agency and Al Jazeera, The Washington Post quoted U.S. officials reporting a worldwide hacking campaign against government bodies, corporations, universities, and energy organizations in the United States.
The Washington Post further reported that hackers recently exploited a security vulnerability in a Microsoft server to initiate their attacks.
The newspaper emphasized that the U.S. and its partners in canada and Australia are investigating breaches of SharePoint file-sharing servers.
According to The Washington Post, at least two federal agency servers have been compromised by hackers.
