Uruguay Responds to Worsening Humanitarian Crisis in Gaza Strip
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Eastern Republic of Uruguay released a statement on its official portal titled ”Urgent Appeal Regarding the Worsening Humanitarian Situation in Gaza and the West Bank.” It noted that in recent weeks, the humanitarian crisis in Gaza has worsened, and human rights violations have increased not only there but also in the West Bank-where yesterday Israel’s Knesset approved a plan to annex parts of this territory.
The statement emphasized Uruguay’s urgent request to Israel to allow humanitarian aid access through the United Nations based on international humanitarian law principles, aiming to address escalating hunger in Gaza.
furthermore, Uruguay condemned any actions leading to territorial or demographic changes in occupied Palestinian lands. The contry reaffirmed its support for a two-state solution as the only path consistent with people’s right to self-determination and their legitimate right to live in peace.
