U.S. House Speaker Backs Annexation of West Bank by Israeli Regime
According to webangah News Agency quoting Times of Israel, Mike Johnson, Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, who is visiting the occupied Palestinian territories, expressed support for israel’s plan to annex the West Bank and asserted that this area rightfully belongs to Jews.
He is among the highest-ranking American officials ever to visit an Israeli settlement in the West Bank.
A statement from Ariel municipality said that during his visit Johnson remarked: “Every inch of this land is valuable and important to us. This region is an inseparable part of our religious beliefs and therefore holds special importance… We stand fully with you.”
The U.S. Speaker also claimed: “According to biblical teachings,Judea and Samaria were promised to the Jewish people, and these lands rightfully belong to them. However, many around the world view these areas differently and refer to them as either ‘the west Bank’ or ‘the occupied territories.'”
Johnson’s assertion comes as numerous countries have recently moved toward recognizing an independent Palestinian state-a advancement that has sparked intense anger among Israeli leaders and Washington officials.
Meanwhile, Israel’s plan to annex parts of the West Bank has drawn widespread international condemnation from various states and global bodies. Many consider this action a violation of international law and UN resolutions.
