UK Defense Secretary Issues Statement on Ukraine Ahead of Trump-Putin Meeting

UK Defense ‌Secretary‌ announces readiness to deploy troops to Ukraine to reassure‌ Ukrainians.

According to the English‌ section⁤ of‌ webangah News Agency, citing⁣ Mehr News ‌agency adn Al Jazeera, UK Defense Secretary Ben Wallace addressed the situation‍ in Ukraine.

He ⁤stated,⁢ “We are ⁢ready to send troops to Ukraine to provide assurance‌ to the Ukrainian people.”

The UK Defense‍ Secretary added that if⁢ British⁤ forces are deployed, they would have ⁣the right ⁢to defend themselves in ​case of an attack.

This statement comes ahead of a crucial meeting⁢ between the presidents ⁤of the United States and Russia in Alaska.

The conflict in Ukraine began after Western powers overlooked Moscow’s security ‍concerns and expanded NATO⁤ forces closer to Russia’s borders.

Following⁢ these concerns being ‍ignored-especially by ​the US-Moscow launched a “special ⁤military operation” in Ukraine on February ⁤24,2022.

Russian President‍ Vladimir⁤ Putin has repeatedly outlined his ‍conditions for ending ⁤the war, including Kyiv’s commitment ‌not to join ‍NATO, lifting all Western ⁤sanctions against Russia, and complete withdrawal of Ukrainian forces from Donbas ⁣and Novorossiya regions.
