Zelensky Sets Conditions for Meeting Putin, Proposes Three Venue Options
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and France 24, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has conditioned a potential meeting with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on receiving security guarantees.
Zelensky also mentioned Switzerland, Austria, and Turkey as possible host countries for the meeting with Putin.
Following U.S. President Donald Trump’s meeting with Putin in Alaska,Zelensky and several European leaders were guests at the White House during a visit hosted by Trump.
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, who attended the White House session, stated that 30 countries are working on a framework to provide security guarantees for ukraine.He emphasized that the United States is ready to join this initiative.
In an interview with Fox News,Rutte described negotiations between Trump,Zelensky,and European leaders as “very successful.” He said these countries are focused on security guarantees that could be implemented following a ceasefire or potentially a extensive peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine.
U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance told Fox News yesterday that Ukraine seeks long-term assurances to preserve its territorial integrity and wants to ensure it will not face Russian aggression again. He emphasized that Europeans would bear most of the duty in securing Ukraine’s safety.
