Deadly Clashes in Sulaymaniyah; Attack on Patriotic Union Party Headquarters+ Video

According to the English section of webangah‌ News⁤ Agency, citing Mehr‍ News Agency,⁢ Iraq’s Al-Ahd ⁢TV released ​footage ‍showing a ⁣drone‌ strike on the residence of⁢ Pavl Talabani, head of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan⁤ (PUK), located in Sulaymaniyah’s⁤ Dabashan neighborhood.

Al-Ahd​ TV reported that Talabani’s residence was hit by ⁤three drone attacks. Air‍ defense systems deployed ‍at his home⁣ intercepted explosive drones. ⁣One UAV was downed near Sulaymaniyah University.

The ‍attack followed yesterday’s decision by Sulaymaniyah Court to issue an arrest warrant for Lahur Sheikh Jangi on ⁣charges related to inciting‌ unrest and tensions. The city’s police confirmed ‌they would enforce ⁣the​ court order.

According to Al-Ahd reports, all entry points to Sulaymaniyah were sealed as drones​ flew over the province’s⁣ skies.

Iraqi media ‌stated that after⁢ Sheikh Jangi refused to surrender to security ‌forces ⁤loyal to PUK,intense battles erupted around his⁤ location at Hotel Lalazar in Sulaymaniyah. The clashes have as spread across⁢ other parts of the city.

Images⁣ also show⁢ smoke from ongoing fighting near Lahur Sheikh jangi’s residence ‍blanketing Sulaymaniyah’s skyline. Local ⁢Kurdistan‍ media reported deployment of T-55 ⁤tanks aimed at‌ storming⁤ his location.
