3 Dead, 19 Injured in Clashes in Sulaymaniyah, Iraq
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al jazeera, Agence France-Presse announced that during the clashes in sulaymaniyah, which led to the arrest of Lahur Sheikh Jangi-the leader of the People’s Front party and a prominent figure in Iraq’s Kurdistan Region-three police officers were killed and at least 19 individuals were detained.
Media affiliated with the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan reported this Friday morning that Lahur Sheikh Jangi and his brother were arrested in Sulaymaniyah city.
Before his arrest, Lahur Sheikh Jangi had called for an uprising against the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan party.
Al Arabiya TV quoted a security source claiming that following the detention of Lahur Sheikh Jangi and his brother, clashes in Sulaymaniyah came to an end.
