Damascus Responds to Imminent Signing of Agreement with Tel Aviv
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera, the Syrian Foreign Ministry has denied reports of an imminent security agreement between Damascus and Tel Aviv scheduled for September 25.
The Coordination and Communications Office of the syrian Foreign Ministry’s Media Directorate stated that these claims are false.
Earlier, Arab Independent had reported, citing senior Syrian sources, that Syria and Israel would sign a security deal under U.S. supervision on September 25.
According to these sources, al-Julani was expected to address the United Nations on September 24 before the agreement signing.
Separately, Qutaiba Idlibi, Director of U.S. Affairs at Syria’s Foreign Ministry, denied any meeting between al-Julani and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu next month.
