ترامپ پوتین را به «جنگ اقتصادی» تهدید کرد

US ‍President says he is ready‍ to⁤ impose economic sanctions on Moscow ‌if his Russian counterpart does not ⁢agree to a ceasefire in the Ukraine war.

According to the English section‌ of webangah News ‍Agency, citing Mehr News Agency via Reuters, US President Donald ⁢Trump announced Washington’s readiness to apply ⁢economic sanctions on Russia if Russian President⁢ Vladimir ‍Putin ‌refuses to agree to a ceasefire in⁤ the ‍Ukraine conflict.

When asked whether Putin would face ‌consequences ⁢if he rejects a ceasefire, Trump said: “What I have in mind is very, very‌ serious, but I ‌would like the matter resolved.”

He added, “We have economic sanctions. I am talking about⁤ an economic war as we are not going into a world war.”

The US president’s‍ latest effort to end⁣ the more than three-year-long‍ Russian-Ukrainian war-so far unsuccessful-has avoided imposing new economic sanctions against Putin. Trump is seeking to arrange a bilateral meeting between Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Speaking ⁣at a ⁤White House cabinet meeting, Trump emphasized: “Not a world war but an ‌economic war will take place. An economic⁤ war is unpleasant and will be unpleasant for Russia. I do not want it. Zelenskyy shares equal responsibility.”

Despite‌ slow progress in diplomatic talks, US and European officials ‍are discussing possible‍ security ⁢guarantees that Washington might provide Kyiv after reaching any hypothetical agreement; these could include air support⁣ or intelligence cooperation.

Trump has long used economic tools⁢ as leverage ⁣against countries involved in conflicts and is⁤ prepared to impose an ⁢additional 25 percent⁣ tariff on Indian exports to the US over New Delhi’s purchase⁢ of Moscow oil.

India ‌remains one of Russia’s largest oil consumers. Yesterday, Trump stated he was ready “to⁢ use⁣ a very powerful tariff mechanism that will be costly for both Russia and Ukraine.”
