Francesca Albanese: Israel Has Killed More Journalists Than in World Wars I and II
The English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera, reported that Francesca Albanese, the UN Special Rapporteur on human rights in the Occupied Palestinian Territories, said that since October 7, 2023, the Israeli regime has killed more journalists than in both World Wars.
As October 7, 2023, Israel has waged a systematic campaign against journalists in Gaza as part of what is described as genocide by the occupying army. This campaign has resulted in the deaths of 247 journalists.
the occupation forces have directly targeted reporters from various media outlets. Many journalists continuing their work despite genocide, hunger, and displacement have been killed or severely injured during direct Israeli attacks.
An international campaign supporting journalists held yesterday warned that at this rate of killings by the Israeli military, soon no one will remain to cover Gaza or report on events there.
This statement was made by Reporters Without Borders and Avaaz-organizations that organized this campaign to show solidarity with Palestinian reporters in Gaza and to condemn ongoing Israeli crimes against them.
