Shiite Ministers Walk Out of Lebanese Cabinet Meeting Over Resistance Disarmament Proposal
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al Mayadeen, Lebanon’s army Commander General Rudolf Heikal attended a cabinet meeting to review a plan granting the state exclusive control over arms. In response, four Shia ministers affiliated with Hezbollah and the Amal Movement left the session. Fadi Makki was another minister who exited during discussions on disarming resistance factions.
Ministers Rakan nasserdin and Mohammad Haidar were among those who left the main hall of the Presidential Palace-the venue for this meeting-and moved to an adjacent room.
