UNRWA: Blockade and Infrastructure Destruction Are Main Causes of Famine in Gaza
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr news Agency and the Palestinian Facts Center, the Commissioner of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) cited restrictions on humanitarian aid entering Gaza, along with damage to infrastructure and attacks on humanitarian operations, as key factors worsening famine faced by residents in the area.
In a press statement,he said,”I have never before witnessed such blatant disregard for humanitarian staff,facilities,and operations.”
He emphasized that continuing to block aid deepens the suffering of over two million people trapped in Gaza. He added that targeting humanitarian personnel and facilities constitutes a clear violation of international law.
