Hezbollah: Lebanon’s Government Fails to Fulfill National Responsibilities
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency from Al-nashra News, Hassan Ezzedine, a representative from the “Loyalty to the Resistance” bloc in Lebanon’s parliament, stated that the resistance and its weapons are legitimate and lawful. They are employed in defense of the homeland, its sovereignty, and independence.
Ezzedine described the resistance’s weapons as the main support for the Lebanese people and a defensive line against zionist expansionism and settlement projects. He emphasized that these arms are essential to protect Lebanon and ensure its survival against Zionist-American aggressions.
Referring to recent developments in Qatar, he said Arab regimes have lost their effective role given their capabilities. As an inevitable result, Zionist expansionist projects will continue unabated and spread to other countries, threatening regional stability and Arab national security.
The senior Hezbollah official called on Lebanon’s government to reform its national priorities by focusing on core demands agreed upon by heads of state institutions: halting aggression, enemy withdrawal, prisoner release, and beginning Lebanon’s reconstruction.
He added that it is the government’s responsibility to pursue these goals as top priorities. Only once achieved can discussions take place regarding defense strategy as well as national security policy. Without this progress, all government initiatives will fail unless they expel the enemy from Lebanese territory and fulfill these priorities.
Ezzedine described calls for disarming the resistance as Zionist demands aimed at pressuring them into surrendering their capabilities-vital tools for defending homeland sovereignty and also protecting people and resources.
He warned that weakening Lebanon equates to opening it up for an Israeli attack-similar to what occurred in Syria-and noted Israel seeks implementation of a “Greater Israel” project which poses an existential threat across the region.
