Italy Sends Second Ship to Escort Samood Fleet

Italy’s Defence Minister announced the ⁢dispatch of a second vessel from‍ the country to join the Gaza blockade-breaking fleet known as “Sumud.”

According to the english section of webangah News Agency, quoting Mehr News Agency and the ‌Palestinian Data Center, Italy’s Defense Minister ‌Guido Crosetto stated that⁣ Italy‍ will send an additional ship to accompany and support the‍ international⁤ Sumud fleet​ delivering humanitarian aid to Gaza.

Earlier, Spanish Prime Minister ‌Giorgia⁣ Meloni announced that⁤ Spain would deploy a naval vessel for‍ maritime‍ operations to accompany ​and‌ support the Sumud‌ fleet and undertake rescue missions.

Yesterday,Guido Crosetto strongly condemned Israel’s nighttime attack on the international⁤ Sumud fleet,which is ‍sailing toward Gaza with the ⁢goal of ⁤breaking‌ Israel’s ⁣blockade ⁣of the strip.

In ⁤a statement, Crosetto also said he had⁢ directed an Italian Navy ship to provide assistance en route ⁤to join the Sumud fleet.

More then 50 vessels have gathered in Greece’s southern territorial waters in the Mediterranean ⁣Sea. They will join six ships arriving from ​Crete as part of a global Sumud flotilla heading⁣ toward⁤ Gaza. ⁣This effort aims ​to break Israel’s blockade on Gaza that has been enforced for nearly two years.
